Clinton Township, Mich., October 5, 2017 – Sanders will celebrate the grand re-opening of its newly remodeled chocolate and ice cream shoppe in Clinton Township on Saturday, October 14th. .The grand re-opening will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9am and a special appearance by the Detroit Lions Mascot, Roary the Lion. Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, the store will hold a day-long celebration featuring giveaways, in-store special offers, free samples, free hot dogs and a variety of family friendly activities.
The renovations increased the previous store’s footprint by about 30-percent and expanded indoor seating from 10 people to 50, plus an additional 75 outdoor seats will be available during warmer months.
“We’ve put a lot of thought into loading the store with features to create memories that will last a lifetime,” said Brian Jefferson, Chairman and CEO of Sanders Candy. “We want visitors to feel compelled to stay for a while when they come to this store.”
“We are grateful for our growing sales and increased national recognition, but we know it wouldn’t be possible without our strong customer base continuing to share us with family and friends,” said Ron Rapson, President of Sanders and Morley Candy Makers. “This new store is just one more way to allow us to continue investing locally to give the Metro Detroit community even more positive memorable experiences.”
The newly remodeled shoppe will feature two waterfalls of real chocolate, a fully visible bakery where shoppers can see baked goods and dipped chocolates being prepared and it has impressive marble countertops paying homage to the classic fountain counters of Sanders shoppes in the early 1900’s.
“We are so grateful to have served the Greater Detroit Community for more than 140 years,” said Ron Rapson, President of Sanders Candy. “This store is an example of us combining our rich history with modern ideas to help create the next chapter of an exciting future for the Sanders brand.”
The entirely reimagined Sanders Chocolate & Ice Cream Shoppe is located inside the Sanders and Morley Candy Makers corporate headquarters and chocolate factory on Hall Road between Groesbeck Highway and Gratiot Avenue.
